Drake plans live commencement, holiday street party on Saturday

Drake University will host its 151st commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Knapp Center. The university will award 363 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. Masks are required for all attendees in compliance with university policy and CDC recommendations. The university will also stream the ceremony at live.drake.edu. Free parking is available in campus lots during the ceremony. Following the ceremony, graduates and their families are encouraged to attend a communitywide holiday street party on the 2300 block of University Avenue. Called Dogtown Chromatic: A Light and Music Experience, the event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and includes a block-long lighting display, a performance by the Isiserettes Drill and Drum Corps, and live music and entertainment.
