Johnston plans to kick off the holiday season with a day of celebration this weekend at the new Johnston Town Center. Holidays at the Town Center is scheduled for Saturday with a full day of activities, which include a visit from Santa Claus, a tree lighting, ice carving, ornament making, entertainment and skating at the new ice rink. Activities are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting at the ice rink, and will continue until 5 p.m. with the lighting of the tree. Children can visit with Santa from 2 to 4 p.m.
