Casey’s expanding Des Moines presence with leased space on Ingersoll
Casey’s General Stores Inc. is entering an agreement with a group associated with Price Chopper to lease the convenience store and fueling pumps located at 3425 Ingersoll Ave. in Des Moines, a spokeswoman for Ankeny-based Casey’s has confirmed. Rumors have been swirling for months that Casey’s was taking over operations of the convenience store, which is located in front of the Price Chopper grocery store at the same address. Price Chopper, which is operated by Kansas City, Kan.-based Associated Wholesale Grocers, has been located on the site since 2015. The store previously had been occupied by Dahl’s Foods Inc., a longtime Des Moines-area grocer that went bankrupt. The spokeswoman for Casey’s wrote in an email that the convenience store will be remodeled. However, she wrote that it’s not yet known when Casey’s will take over operations of the convenience store. Casey’s operates more than 2,200 convenience stores in 16 states and is the fourth-largest convenience store retailer in the U.S.
