NOTABLE TRANSACTIONS: Waukee buys land for affordable housing development

To help achieve that goal, Waukee has purchased 15.2 acres of undeveloped ground at 500 N. Warrior Lane, paying Prairie Rose Waukee LLC $902,550 for the property, Dallas County real estate records show.
The city wants to “create opportunities for additional affordable housing options within Waukee for both families and seniors,” Summer Evans, the city’s spokesperson, wrote in an email. Waukee will soon request development proposals for the land, with a focus on affordable housing, she wrote.
The transaction was recorded March 2.

68th Street Property LLC, based in West Des Moines, paid DNS Properties LLC $3.35 million for property at 140 S. 68th St. in West Des Moines, records show. The 1.2-acre parcel includes a two-story, 20,912-square-foot office building constructed in 2007. The property is valued at $2.9 million. The transaction was recorded March 1.
Spring Crest Northwest Townhouses LLC, based in Urbandale, paid the Edward J. Broderick Family Trust and Norma R. Broderick Revocable Trust $1.48 million for nearly 20 acres east of Northwest Second Street in Waukee, records show. The undeveloped land is northwest of the Waukee Family YMCA. The transaction was recorded March 1.
Menz Land Co. LLC, based in Perry, paid the Richard Dee Hoffman Family Trust $1.6 million for property at 22552 150th St. in Bouton, records show. The 4.7-ace parcel includes a 1,904-square-foot house constructed in 1967. The transaction was recorded March 1.
