Des Moines Register: More than half of Iowans now oppose using funds for public schools to help parents pay the costs of nonpublic schools or home schooling. A new Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll found the proposal — one of Gov. Kim Reynolds’ hallmark policy goals this year — has grown more unpopular since an Iowa Poll during last year’s legislative session, when she first introduced it. Fifty-two percent of Iowans now oppose the plan, up 3 percentage points from last year. Forty-one percent favor it, down from 44%.
