The area includes Valley West Mall and University Park Shopping Center, both of which have vacant storefronts. Representatives from four companies that specialize in land planning were interviewed earlier this month. Clyde Evans, West Des Moines’ economic development director, said he expects a decision on which company is selected by early December. The four finalists are: Camiros, a consulting group based in Chicago; WRT of Philadelphia; RDG Planning and Design of Des Moines; and Confluence of Des Moines. The four consulting groups all have partners with which they plan to work.
