Application period opens for state Supreme Court vacancy

78 wordsAll Latest News, Government Policy and LawThe State Judicial Nominating Commission, which is responsible for selecting nominees for appointment to the Iowa Supreme Court, announced today it will begin accepting applications for the vacancy on the court that occurred when Chief Justice Mark Cady died on Nov. 15. The deadline for applications to be received by the commission is 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 23. The commission plans to meet on Jan. 8-9 and select three nominees to submit to Gov. Kim Reynolds for appointment.
