Gov. Kim Reynolds today announced nearly $2.3 million in grants to fund 35 internship projects across the state this summer. The grants from Future Ready Iowa’s Summer Youth Internship Program are being awarded for the fourth consecutive year to give youths meaningful work experience as they explore and prepare for high-demand careers. The grants support efforts to increase career opportunities for the state’s youths, including in areas with at-risk or under-represented communities. An estimated 659 students will participate in the programs this summer. Grants were awarded to employers, educational institutions and nonprofit organizations. A portion of the funding for the grants comes from the American Rescue Plan Act.
