177 wordsAll Latest News, Banking and Finance, EnergyWells Fargo recently celebrated the completion of a solar energy project at its Jordan Creek campus in West Des Moines. The company touts the project as the largest behind-the-meter solar project in Iowa. It will offset the company’s electrical load directly rather than go through a utility. According to a web presentation, the solar panels will offset 12% of the energy needs of the campus. Company officials were joined by local and state leaders at an event on April 14 to celebrate the project, which is part of an initiative Wells Fargo announced last year in partnership with Ameresco Inc. to develop and install 30 megawatts of new on-site solar generation at nearly 100 locations in eight states, including the 2-MW ground mount system in West Des Moines. Ameresco provides energy efficient infrastructure upgrades to meet the renewable energy needs of companies and organizations in North America and Europe. Officials with Wells Fargo say the project will also create jobs, generate tax revenue and bring resilience to the energy grid. Photo submitted by Wells Fargo.
