Erica Spiller, assistant director of student services at Des Moines Area Community College, is moving to a new position at the college as associate provost for student services at the DMACC Urban Campus. Spiller will continue to support the districtwide enrollment services and student success team and lead areas related to student success, engagement and retention in addition to her new role at the Urban Campus. “The goals and objectives of the Student Services team at Urban Campus and the districtwide responsibilities all center around student success and engagement,” Spiller said in a release. “The new and continued responsibilities complement one another, which I believe further empower us to design and implement the best strategies and systems to enhance our successes in how we support students and the community.” During her six years at DMACC, Spiller has led student affairs assessments and orientation and worked with the Student Success Initiatives/Early Alert Referral Department and career center. She has also held positions as interim director of student development, orientation and transfer coordinator, and adjunct English instructor positions as well as her current role.
