Jason Gassmann, president of Bell Brothers Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. in Des Moines, is now the sole owner of the business after purchasing it from his father, Chuck Gassmann. Jason Gassmann has been with Bell Brothers for 18 years, becoming president in 2017 when his father made the transition to CEO. “I’m lucky to have had all these years to watch my dad and learn all the facets of the business,” Gassmann said. “You need to know the ins and outs of every part, so that takes time.” As part of the company’s succession plan, Steve Terry has been promoted from service manager to vice president of construction and service, and Aaron Stanton has been promoted from customer care supervisor to service manager. Bell Brothers was founded in 1955 by brothers Bob and Maurice Bell. Today, the company remains a family business with 87 employees working in three areas: residential, commercial and geothermal.
