About 1,400 Special Olympics athletes in Iowa learned Tuesday that they will not be able to compete in the upcoming midwinter tournament because of coronavirus concerns. 

KCCI-TV: About 1,400 Special Olympics athletes in Iowa learned Tuesday that they will not be able to compete in the upcoming midwinter tournament because of coronavirus concerns. The Special Olympics Iowa 2020 Mid-Winter Tournament, which had been scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Iowa City, was canceled by organizers.
