Based on guidance from federal and local public health authorities, the Purple Soiree originally planned by the Alzheimer’s Association for June 5 at the Meadows Event & Conference Center in Altoona has been postponed until June 25, 2021, organizers announced this week. The event features a reception, gourmet dinner and program with updates on Alzheimer’s research and resources, and entertainment by the Purple Xperience, a five-person Prince tribute band. Proceeds from the fundraiser help support Alzheimer’s Association programs including the 24/7 Helpline, area support groups and medical research.
