Knutson promoted to senior leadership role at NCMIC
NCMIC Group Inc., the nation’s largest chiropractic malpractice insurance company, has promoted Melissa Knutson to senior vice president for insurance operations and has named her to the senior management team. She most recently was vice president for risk operations of the Clive-based company. Knutson has held a number of leadership roles since joining the company in January 2004, among them business development manager, equipment finance sales manager, and vice president and general manager for equipment finance. “In her new role, Knutson will continue to lead the Risk Operations team while also working closely with the Insurance Client Service Center, with a focus on process improvements, customer experience and growth of the insurance company,” said David Siebert, president of NCMIC. Siebert said he has seen Knutson grow into “an amazing leader” since her move from the finance side of the business two years ago. “She has developed a deep understanding of our business in the insurance company and brings a unique perspective given her past experience in the finance company,” he said. NCMIC’s finance company handles equipment loans, credit card processing, business credit cards and premium financing. In addition to actively volunteering with several Greater Des Moines nonprofits, Knutson is the founder of Give Grace Give Hope Inc., a nonprofit that provides menstrual products to local schools and nonprofits. She is a member of the Business Record’s 2019 Forty Under 40 class.
