FCC approves sale of Lumen assets to Brightspeed

104 wordsAll Latest News, Innovation and EntrepreneurshipThe Federal Communications Commission has approved the previously announced sale of Lumen Technologies’ incumbent local exchange carrier (ILEC) business in 20 states to Brightspeed. Lumen will retain its ILEC business in 16 states, including Iowa. According to a news release, Lumen will also retain its national fiber routes and associated networks in all of these states and its international operations. Brightspeed plans significant investment to build an expanded fiber optics network to serve the 20-state footprint it will acquire.
