Wiese will oversee subsidiaries and supply chain, Hy-Vee said in a news release Tuesday. Both will report to Edeker, who will step down as CEO on Oct. 1 but continue to serve in his other role as the company’s chairman. The announcement of Wiese’s pending promotion came in late July. At the time, the company said Gosch would remain as president and chief operating officer, positions to which he had been promoted in December. In the Tuesday news release, Edeker said the CEO job had become too large for one person.
