A group of investors has stepped forward to purchase Des Moines technology firm Igor Inc. to continue the “legacy of Igor’s Power-over-Ethernet smart building technology.” The new owners are Brent Haverkamp, Sean McMurray, Jim Cownie and Paul Hayes. According to a news release, the company has had to make adjustments in response to chip shortages and labor challenges. “A few of our high net worth investors have bought the company with a focus on ushering in an era of profitable calculated growth and increasing customer returns,” Igor founder Dwight Stewart said in a news release. “Thanks to this strong backing, we will focus investment in advancing Igor’s hardware, software, and services to attain rapid low-effort installs and maintenance, while delivering higher-value actionable data reporting and customer outcomes.” Stewart will continue to manage Igor. The company has had several large enterprise contracts in recent years with Microsoft, Pfizer and WiPro, the release said.
