Registration is now open for the seventh annual Iowa Rural Summit being held April 11-12 at the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center in Ames. The event aims to gather leaders from rural communities across the state to address issues such as housing, broadband access, business development and leadership. The summit encourages rural communities to bring a three-person team to generate post-summit momentum. Interested individuals can also register online. The summit is sponsored by the Iowa Rural Development Council, a public-private statewide nonprofit. Keynote speakers include Danielle Nierenberg, founder of Food Tank, and Carrie Henning-Smith, associate professor at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. Breakout sessions will explore a variety of topics, including rural libraries and hospitals. Links to online registration can be found at www.iowardc.org/summit.
