The new platform allows expectant parents to track movements from a desktop or laptop computer, using the model of the Count the Kicks mobile app, which launched in 2015.
The web counter is available in 16 languages and allows parents to count their baby’s movements starting at 28 weeks by clicking a footprint button every time they feel a kick, jab, poke or roll during the kick-counting session. The data will sync with the mobile app.
“We want to make kick counting a common practice for all expectant parents in the third trimester of pregnancy. The new web-based kick counting platform is a convenient option for pregnant women who may not have access to a mobile device or tablet,” said Healthy Birth Day Inc. Program Director Megan Aucutt in a news release. “Expectant parents can use the web-based kick counter from anywhere they have access to the internet, including a friend’s house or the public library.”
The Count the Kicks campaign has generated more than 110 baby save stories in 34 states and five countries since its launch.
