IEDA approves innovation funding to three Iowa startups

The Innovation Fund was created as part of the initiative to offer additional funding opportunities to assist entrepreneurs through concept, launch and expansion. Nebullam Inc., based in Ames, received a $250,000 Innovation Acceleration Launch Fund loan for key personnel. The company offers a full-service subscription opportunity selling produce directly to consumers. SmartScripts Holdings in Iowa City was awarded a $1 million Innovation Acceleration Expansion Fund loan for product refinement, key personnel, equipment and software development. SmartScripts’ platform facilitates distribution between pharmaceutical manufacturers and patients to help lower costs. Continuum Ag, based in Washington, received a $250,000 Innovation Acceleration Launch Fund loan for key personnel and IP development and evaluation. The startup provides farmers with a digital roadmap for soil health success.
