Des Moines Metro Opera announced that it makes an annual economic impact of $12 million in Warren, Polk and Dallas counties, based on a study of data from the company’s 2022 season. This marks an $8.6 million increase from a similar study in 2012. DMMO said its in-house production approach sets it apart from other performing arts organizations in the area. In 2022, the company attracted 10,761 attendees, with 40% coming from outside the Des Moines metro area. Every dollar donated to or spent on DMMO doubled its value in the local economy.
