The Social Media Club of Des Moines will host an event on April 21 designed to educate participants on how recruiters, potential employers and the law perceive social media. The event, scheduled to take place from 5:30-7 p.m. at Gravitate, will offer insights and best practices on how to be vigilant in guarding social media image. Speakers include Melody Maxted, recruiter, Paragon IT Professionals; Paige Schirone, marketing analyst, Paragon IT Professionals; Kyle Schafroth, human resources, Meredith Corp.; and Brett Trout, Law Offices of Brett Trout. Cost is $10 per person before April 15. After that date, the registration fee increases to $15 per person. Registration is available online.
