SBA backs $1.1 million in loans in April
The U.S. Small Business Administration backed $1.1 million in Central Iowa loans in April, creating 12 jobs and retaining 31.
For the year, the SBA has approved loans totaling $9.5 million, creating 129 jobs and retaining 161 in Polk, Story, Boone, Dallas, Madison, Warren, Marion, Jasper and Marshall counties.
Statewide, the SBA in April backed 34 loans for $7.4 million to Iowa businesses from participating lenders using its two largest lending programs. That capitalized 14 new and 20 existing businesses expected to create 89 new jobs and retain 183 jobs.
LJK Two Holdings LLC of Ames received one of the bigger loans at $297,500, creating 25 jobs and retaining one. The company has been affiliated with Firehouse Subs.
High-end bicycle maker Ruster Sports LLC of Des Moines was approved for $220,000, creating one job and retaining 10.
