West Des Moines-based convenience store chain Kum & Go LC and its customers will be donating more than $480,000 to Habitat for Humanity International as part of a nationwide fundraising effort held earlier this year. In March, Kum & Go and Habitat announced an expanded partnership that resulted in customer contributions exceeding $275,000, as well as a corporate donation of $206,000. This is the second year that Kum & Go has been a national partner of Habitat for Humanity. Kum & Go invited customers to add a $1 donation to their in-store purchases to support Habitat’s mission of “building homes, communities and hope.” Kum & Go also committed to sponsoring a Habitat for Humanity home in one of the communities where its 430 stores operate in 11 states.
