Though the vote is more of a procedural matter that is required under state law, it will indicate that the city is willing to provide local assistance at a minimum of $1,000 per unit.
All but 70 units would be in the downtown area.
Here’s the lineup:
- Blackbird Investments plans 44 apartments as part of a $13 million project at the Clemens Building, 200 10th St.
- Jake Christensen proposes 45 units in a $6 million project at 400 S.E. Sixth St.
- Neighborhood Development Corp. proposes $25 million in new construction that would bring 150 units to an area bordered by Jackson Street on the north, Dunham Avenue on the south, Indianola Avenue on the west and South Union Street on the east.
- Minnesota-based Roers Investments Inc. plans a $40 million project that would bring 211 units to an empty lot at 103 S.W. Third St.
- Anawim Housing Inc. plans two projects totaling $10.9 million that would create a total of 70 units at 1521 Sixth Ave. and 1621 Sixth.
