MPO plans pontoon river tour, Victorian house visit
A Des Moines River pontoon ride and a Victorian home tour on Thursday, July 30, will help attendees learn about historical ties to the river. The Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and Iowa Department of Natural Resources have arranged the tour, led by by John Wenck, a river authority at the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. The event runs 6 to 8 p.m. and begins at Prospect Park. The trip will include a tour of Curt Systma and Ellen King Huntoon’s restored Victorian home along the river. Read more
