Heid to retire from Wells Fargo Home Mortgage

Wells Fargo & Co.’s mortgage chief, Mike Heid, is retiring after 28 years with the San Francisco-based bank, the company announced Wednesday. Franklin Codel, 50, executive vice president and head of mortgage production, will succeed Heid, effective Oct. 1.


Heid, 58, executive vice president and head of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, spent 11 years leading the mortgage division. Before leading the mortgage division, he was the group’s CFO and head of loan servicing.


Heid joined Norwest Mortgage, which combined with Wells Fargo in 1998, in 1988. He is a board director of the Mortgage Bankers Association and also serves as chairman of the Lending and Leasing Committee of the Financial Services Roundtable.


Both Heid and Codel are based in West Des Moines. Read more
