Chad Pregracke, president and founder of Quad Cities-based river cleanup organization Living Lands & Waters, will give the keynote address at the Iowa Environmental Council’s annual conference Oct 2 at Drake University. The council is marking its 20th anniversary. Pregracke gained widespread attention when he started a Mississippi River cleanup as a young man. His organization has led more than 800 cleanups on 23 rivers in 20 states, removing an estimated eight million pounds of garbage. The conference will be in the Olmsted Center. Read more
