Event Nov. 12: Yahoo technology and politics seminar at Drake to feature Katie Couric and Funny or Die producer

Yahoo Inc. plans a daylong seminar on the role of technology in the democratic process Nov. 12 at Drake University. The session, which will be live-streamed on Yahoo Politics, will feature Yahoo politics and news team members Katie Couric, Michael Isikoff, Matt Bai, David Pogue, Olivier Knox, Jon Ward and Alyssa Bereznak hosting sessions that will include these panelists: Mikey Dickerson, administrator of the U.S. Digital Service; Haley Van Dyck, deputy administrator of the U.S. Digital Service; Nate Lubin, former White House digital strategy director; Stephanie Cutter, deputy campaign manager for Barack Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign; Nicholas Carr, author of the acclaimed new book “The Glass Cage: How Our Computers Are Changing Us”; Mindy Finn, digital strategist for President George W. Bush and Mitt Romney; Mike Farah, president of production for comedy video website Funny or Die; Matt Lira, a Republican strategist; and Catherine Bracy, director of community organizing for Code for America. Read more
