Event Nov. 19: DNR to hold hearings on new air quality fees

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is installing a new system of air quality fees after a new legislation was passed in part to cover a shortfall in the air-quality bureau’s budget. A series of public hearings will be held regarding a proposed  flat fee for new source review applications from minor sources. The Iowa Environmental Protection Commission also wants to install a system of billable hours for some application reviews. A series of public hearings will include a session at 10 a.m. Nov. 19 at the air quality bureau, 7900 Hickman Road. Read more
