The city of Des Moines plans to provide an app with routes to the Iowa Events Center when it closes a section of the skywalk system between Watson Powell Jr. Way and the Events Center on Dec. 7 for construction of the Iowa Events Center convention center hotel. In addition to the skywalk app, maps have been created by the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau, Iowa Events Center, Polk County and Downtown Community Alliance, and signage with detour information will be displayed in the skywalks to direct foot traffic.
