Black Urban Professionals of Des Moines was started in early 2015 by Georgia native and recent Des Moines transplant Antoinette Stevens, who works in information technology at Principal Financial Group Inc. The group aims to increase the visibility of local black professionals and to discuss issues that are important to the attraction and retention of diverse talent in Des Moines.
