Year-to-date house sales above last year’s numbers

118 wordsAll Latest News, Real Estate and DevelopmentHouse sales dropped statewide in November, but prices continued to rise over year-ago levels, the Iowa Association of Realtors said today. Sales dropped to 2,513 last month from 2,800 in November 2014, while the median price increased to $139,900 from $134,000. Houses that were sold last month had been on the market an average of 74 days, compared with 84 a year ago. Total sales for the year are 4.9 percent ahead of this time last year. The Greater Des Moines Association of Realtors said last week that November sales dropped to 806 from 1,034 in October and pending sales dropped to 908 from 1,023 over the same period.
