The Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Federal Highway Administration plan to survey as many as 12,000 Greater Des Moines households to come up with a more in-depth version of the National Household Travel Survey. “No matter how you get around, we want to hear how you travel,” MPO Executive Director Todd Ashby said in a statement. “Your answers will provide valuable information to transportation planners and policymakers as they decide when, where and how to invest limited transportation funding to improve streets, transit, sidewalks, and bike lanes.” The survey will run through April 2017.
