The Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation has commissioned artist Larassa Kabel to create a design to be wrapped around a large DART bus, as part of the foundation’s Project Spaces initiative. Kabel’s design, the fourth in a series of bus art, will be unveiled at the Des Moines Arts Festival next month. Foundation director M. Jessica Rowe said the image will be “whimsical and stunning.” Kabel is known for creating art in a distinctive style of photorealism. One of her designs was selected as the White House’s 2012 Christmas card.
