Eric Olmscheid, director of programming and education for Des Moines Performing Arts, was presented an award for outstanding achievement in education and engagement as part of the annual Broadway League Award last month. The awards honor excellence and achievement for the touring Broadway industry. Since 2008, Olmscheid has led the development of six new programming initiatives, including the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards, and has expanded education and engagement programs to serve more than 75,000 people a year.
