New York City artist wins best in show at Arts Festival
Scissors drawing artist Ella Richards was awarded Best of Show at the Des Moines Arts Festival last weekend. Kristen Greteman was named Best of Emerging Iowa Artists. Richards’ work is called scissors drawing because they involve drawing and cutting. At first glance people think it is a pen or ink drawing, when in fact it is her original drawing cut out of black paper with micro-scissors.
