Debi Durham says she won’t be directing the Iowa Economic Development Authority that much longer, but still doesn’t have a set departure date. I asked her about her plans while I was interviewing her for our Women of Influence issue. Durham, appointed by Gov. Terry Branstad in January 2011, originally committed to serve for four years. That was more than 5½ years ago. She extended her stay, she said, to complete work on things like the biorenewable tax credit. “My time is short,” Durham said when asked when she plans to leave. “It won’t be tomorrow. I will stay until it feels like it is time to go. I would like to leave before I am told to go,” she said with a chuckle.
