Over the last several months, I’ve been tracking the future of development ground near the new Interstate 80 interchange at Cumming. Some of that land, actually located north of Cumming in West Des Moines, appears destined for a data center project the likes of which haven’t been seen before in Greater Des Moines. I wrote an item about the project and the confidentiality agreements that surround it and a lot of development projects, especially those that are destined for state and local development incentives. That’s one project among “at least six secret” projects under consideration in Greater Des Moines, according to people who keep a close watch on the real estate and development market. So many, in fact, that this reporter constantly had to focus the conversation on land in northwest Warren and northeast Madison counties, the location of the West Des Moines project called Project Osmium, and not some other project. The details about those other projects? Well, they’re secret, of course. Read more about the West Des Moines project
