Weigh in on recommendations for model building codes

0 wordsAll Latest News, Government Policy and Law, Real Estate and DevelopmentThe executive committee of the Central Iowa Code Consortium, which was created by Capital Crossroads to search for areas of conformity in local building codes, will host two more meetings for the public and government and industry stakeholders to comment on recommendations that will ultimately be forwarded to participating governments for their consideration. On July 19, the meeting will be at 5 p.m. at the West Des Moines Fire Station No. 17, 1401 Railroad Ave., and on Aug. 1 the meeting will be at 4:30 p.m. at the Des Moines Municipal Services Center, 1551 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. Johnston City Administrator Jim Sanders, who heads the consortium, said the plan is to submit final recommendations to participating governments in late August. Polk County and the cities of Altoona, Ankeny, Bondurant, Carlisle, Clive, Des Moines, Grimes, Johnston, Norwalk, Osceola, Pleasant Hill, Polk City, Urbandale, Van Meter, Waukee, West Des Moines and Windsor Heights are participating.
