Renovated Hy-Vee conference center opens in W.D.M.

The renovated Hy-Vee conference center reopened in West Des Moines recently and has been renamed after a former company CEO, according the company’s Facebook page. The Ron Pearson Center is double the size of the original building and was part of a two-phase expansion that was projected at nearly $75 million and includes more office space. The project began in 2015 after the company received $7.5 million in state economic development benefits in exchange for creating 102 high-paying jobs. Pearson led a dramatic expansion of the company in the 1990s and early into the 21st century and has been inducted into the Iowa Business Hall of Fame.
