Stevens, Chang, Lt. Gov. Reynolds win Women of Innovation awards

The Des Moines Area Community College Iowa Women of Innovation Awards were awarded this week by the Technology Association of Iowa. Among the winners was Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds, the STEM champion who received the inaugural Legislative Advocate Leader Award.


The winners were:


Research innovation and leadership: Dr. Chioma Okeoma, University of Iowa.


Academic innovation and leadership: Sarah Diesburg, University of Northern Iowa.


Entrepreneurial innovation and leadership: Diane Young, Foundation Analytical Laboratory Inc.


Business innovation and leadership: Kim Lehrman, HH Ventures/enTouch Wireless.


Company innovation and growth: Pillar Technology.


Rising star: Jessica Horaney, Rockwell Collins.


Diversity champion: Antoinette Stevens, Principal Financial Group Inc.


STEM champion: Jodi Morgan-Peters, Newton Senior High School.
 
Legislative Advocacy Leader: Lt. Gov.  Kim Reynolds.


Student winners ($2,500 scholarships):
Collegian innovation and leadership: Jennifer Chang, Iowa State University.

Youth innovation and leadership: Emilia Porubcin, Rivermont Collegiate.
