Rear Admiral Peg Klein, a senior advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Defense, will speak to an invitation-only crowd Tuesday, Aug. 16 at the Greater Des Moines Partnership building.

Klein, who spent her entire adult life in the military has been second in command of the Naval Academy as the 82nd commandant of midshipmen from December 2006 to June 2008. She was responsible for the military and professional development of the Brigade of Midshipmen, being the first woman to ever hold this position.
