Polk County supervisors elect Connolly as chair

102 wordsAll Latest News, Government Policy and LawThe Polk County Board of Supervisors did a lot of swearing in at its inaugural meeting of 2015. Angela Connolly was elected chairperson and Tom Hockensmith was elected vice chairperson. Connolly has served on the board since 1998 and served as its chair in 2012. Hockensmith began serving his fourth term and Supervisor John Mauro began his fifth term of office after serving as chair last year. Other elected officials who received the oath of office at the Jan. 2 meeting were Polk County Attorney John Sarcone, Polk County Treasurer Mary Maloney and Polk County Recorder Julie Haggerty, according to a release.
