In partnership with the Girl Scouts, the Iowa Commission on the Status of Women will host Capitol Girls, an event for high school girls throughout Iowa. The event will be held starting at 7:30 a.m. Feb. 11 at the state Capitol. Girls will learn about the workings of the Iowa General Assembly and have an opportunity to shadow female legislators, as well as learn how state laws and budgets are developed and passed. The deadline for registration is Jan. 26. Visit the Girl Scouts website to register, or email women@iowa.gov with questions.
