The Iowa Women’s Leadership Project on Feb. 17 will roll out its third “She Matters” report, and the group is seeking input and feedback from Iowa men and women to move the issues from identification to action.

A public forum will be held from 9:15 a.m. to noon on the 17th at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden. During the forum, which follows a legislative breakfast and press conference at the state Capitol, IWLP representatives will provide an update on the coalition’s progress in tackling key concerns centering around women’s equality.

It also will provide guidance to individuals, businesses, educational institutions, elected officials and nonprofit organizations in their continued work to improve the status of Iowa’s women and girls.

During the forum, though, organizers are hoping to gain feedback from attendees through roundtable discussions. The goal of the discussions is to help the IWLP map out a grass-roots effort to take action on the issues presented in the 2015 report.

More information on the forum can be found here.

The Iowa Women’s Leadership Project was formed in 2011 to connect organizations and businesses with a stake in the future of girls and women in Iowa. The coalition explores common goals, and regularly compiles relevant and accurate data on issues affecting women and girls.

The IWLP membership is composed of several statewide groups, including Iowa Women Lead Change, NEXUS Executive Women Alliance, the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women & Politics, the Chrysalis Foundation and the Iowa Commission on the Status of Women.
