Bridgestone Agricultural Tire names new president
Bridgestone Agricultural Tire, U.S. & Canada Commercial Tire Sales, a division of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, today announced that Tony Orlando has been appointed to lead the company’s agricultural tire operations. He succeeds Ken Allen, who retired from the position in June 2014. Most recently, Orlando was vice president and managed several global partnerships for Bridgestone’s U.S. mobility and retail market space. He joined the company as a manufacturing process engineer in 1988 and rose through the ranks in a number of roles, among them strategy development, financial analysis, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture management, business development and sales and marketing. Orlando also spent several years of his Bridgestone career in London, Hong Kong and Singapore. He has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA in finance and marketing from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He will divide his time between Bridgestone Agricultural Tire’s Des Moines manufacturing operation, which employs approximately 1,600 people locally, and Bridgestone’s corporate headquarters in Nashville, Tenn.
