Buzzfeed.com, a Manhattan-based website that tries to reflect viral content on the Internet, has declared Des Moines tops on its list of “10 Midwest Cities You Should Visit.” Add it to the growing list of accolades for Iowa’s capital city. BuzzFeed “community member” Lara Parker, an Indianapolis author, posted the list, which praises our city for hosting the Des Moines Arts Festival and the Iowa State Fair. She also notes that Ashton Kutcher is from Iowa (although we think Des Moines’ cool quotient is high enough without Kutcher). Parker posted her list Dec. 21, but you know how it is. Cool trends always take awhile to get from Manhattan to the prairie.
