Local bus ridership up in November

Total ridership for the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) was up 3.65 percent in November 2013 as compared with November 2012, according to numbers released by DART yesterday. A total of 349,845 passengers used the service in November, up from 337,521 the previous year. That’s a 5.62 increase since the fiscal year began in July. A total of 1.95 million passengers have used the service since July. DART began changing some of its bus routes and service in November of 2012. A DART spokesman said the agency is pleased with the growth in ridership for the first part of the year.
