The Des Moines Metro Opera Wine & Food Showcase is scheduled to take place on Feb. 21 at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown, 700 Grand Ave. Central Iowa chefs and caterer will join with vintners, brewers and distributors to showcase their signature offerings to those in attendance. The event will benefit Des Moines Metro Opera’s main stage opera productions as well as its educational and cultural programs, including OPERA Iowa Educational Touring Troupe and the Apprentice Artist Program. New to this year’s showcase will be Club Opera, the company’s dance and opera-themed after-party at Big City Burgers and Greens. Attendees will also have the first opportunity to purchase single tickets to Des Moines Metro Opera’s 42nd festival season. Tickets are $50 at the door or $40 if purchased in advance online.
